Deciding to gather your family together to have a family portrait session is a big decision and many times comes with questions and worries about how everyone will look or if the children will behave. I hope this list of common worries and how I approach them will ease your mind. I am always available to answer any questions and help guide you through the process. Don't forget to check out my Pinterest board which includes wardrobe ideas for all kinds of sessions from engagement to maternity to family. I want to take the stress out of your planning.  Remember...at the end of the day what matters most is the time you spend together. Let's capture some epic memories.

Worry #1. My Children Won't Sit Still at The Dinner Table, How Can They Possibly Sit For a Portrait?

Booking an adventure session with Charlie Little Photography takes the worry away and makes it easy to get those magical family images that you want to display on your walls. I am 1,000% not worried about children who can't sit still. In fact I don't want them to sit still! When a family goes on an adventure together the images created are ones that you will treasure for a lifetime. With a background in Early Childhood Education, a knowledge of the best adventure spots in New England and my own experiences as a mom; I can guarantee that we will have the best time together. We will find pinecones, chase the sunset and play on beaches with tree limbs for jungle gyms...it will be a day to let go and enjoy your time together while I capture it all.

Worry #2. I Love The Idea of Getting Portraits Taken Outdoors But Have No Idea Where To Go.

When booking our adventure session I will talk with you about where you live and what locations nearby would be the best to explore. I have visited many trails, farms, orchards and parks throughout New England and will be sure to find a location that is not only beautiful but also convenient for you. Every Spring I purchase my annual Massachusetts DCR Parking Pass. You can find yours here if you are interested in visiting any beautiful state parks or beaches near you. Sometimes the most beautiful location can be right outside your door as well. Backyards with beautiful trees or small ponds are always fun to explore and so meaningful because we are right at home!

When your session approaches I will find the best parking, best light and the most magic within our reach!

Worry #3.  My House is a Disaster and I Don't Want Anyone To See The Chaos.

Many times will begin a session at your home before taking a walk in the great outdoors. I am not coming to your home to shoot images for the next glamorous home furniture catalogue, I am coming to capture your beautifully messy family. I embrace the chaos and have quite a bit of my own mess at my house on a daily basis. When photographing families in their homes I like to find the best light, the most loved stuffed animals and the places that you all gather to capture memorable images. I can't get enough images of a family all piled together on mom and dad's bed laughing and snuggling. Don't worry about the piles of laundry or the Cheerios on the floor. I'm there to capture you, your connections and your unique daily adventure as a family.                                                                                                                                      Besides, a cheerio stuck to a toddler's face is pretty cute.

Worry #4. I Need to Get in Shape Before I Can Get In Front Of a Camera, These Pictures Will Just Be Of The Kids.

Trust me when I tell you that you are always going to look amazing when you are laughing and exploring with your children. So many times the anxieties that parents have regarding their appearance melt away once they are sitting with their toddler next to a babbling brook or digging their toes together in the sand. When booking a session with Charlie Little Photography you are also gaining a new friend. I am hear to help talk about the most flattering outfits for your shape, the best colors to wear and how to coordinate as a family. I promise that I will guide you and make this experience a lot more fun than that time your senior portrait photographer made you lean awkwardly on that fence! I want this experience to be unique and enjoyable.

I hope these images are ones that you are proud to display in your home. I can't wait to get started!
